The Tautai Fale-ship Residencies place value on the everyday experiences of Moana artists operating in their own centres.

In a model conceived in response to the 2020 lockdown, we now celebrate the Fale-ship residencies as a vital part of Tautai’s ongoing programme to foster and showcase Pacific creatives.  

This year Tautai invited our artists to create works inspired by the words of Epeli Hau’ofa in reaching out across ‘Our Sea of Islands’ and to respond to navigation, wayfinding and meeting across oceans both physical and digital. 

Recipients will be showcased across Tautai’s platforms between October – December 2023
