    VISUAL ARTIST

Latamai Katoa is a multimedia artist and visual storyteller. Half Pākehā and half Tongan, their experiential and immersive photography, video works and installation bring compelling dialogue to the intersectionality of identity and culture. Katoa was recognized for their work as a National Geographic young explorer in 2024. Katoa is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland’s Te Waka Tuhura Elam School of Fine Arts. Katoa joined as a Ngāue ‘Ofa Volunteer to directly support the artist community. Latamai is currently endeavouring to find new ways to share important stories.

Currently, Tautai is not accepting any new Ngāue ‘Ofa Volunteers.
