EXHIBITION OPENING

Talitali fiefia! We invite you and your fāmili to the opening of VOYAGERS: The Niu World, a solo show created by Sulieti Fieme’a Burrows and Tui Emma Gillies.

Combining pieces created during Aotearoa’s lockdown and new work, this exhibition aims to tap into the spirit of the great explorers of the Pacific, consulting the stars and charting a course into the wild blue expanse.

The show also includes Pele Gillies, Tui’s son, whose piano playing became the inspirational soundtrack that accompanied the tapa painting process. Pele will share his talents with us, performing a piece composed especially for the opening.
