Welcome to the first newsletter of the year. There is a tonne in this edition of the newsletter, we have a feature article on Kalisolaite 'Uhila and some extensive coverage of our invovlement of the Auckland Arts Festival 2013 plus upcoming shows and events for May, June and July 2013.

This is the fourth and final newsletter for a very busy 2012, and we open it with a feature profile of sculptor and jeweller Steven Gwaliasi by Reina Sutton, Talia Smith writes up the successful Professional Development Day that included art students from the five tertiary institutions, Christina Jeffery sets the scene for her trip to Europe with the Postcard from Germany, Dagmar Dyck keeps us up to date with the Fresh Horizons Hawkes Bay, pictures from the Auckland tertiary institutions graduate shows plus the upcoming events and exhibitions for January, February and March 2013.

Features a profile of Matthew Faiumu Salapu aka Anonymouz, the Tautai Tertiary Art Exhibition, This Must Be The Place, curated by Jeremy Leatinu'u, opened at the AUT St Pauls St Gallery with a write by Chris Ryan, who had work in the show, the Pacific Art survey show HomeAKL opened at the Auckland Art Gallery with a write up by Lana Lopesi and we hosted a Tautai Art Day 2012 where ourselves and our tertiary art students took in both This Must Be The Place and HomeAKL plus a Kava ceremony to finish the day, with a write up by Mele Mafile’o ‘Uhamaka and the Media Design School hosted Fresh Horizons Auckland with a write up by tutor Dagmar Dyck plus the Up coming events and exhibitions for October, November and December 2012.

Features a profile of Tiffany Singh with beautiful images, Fresh  Horizons Invercargill took place in April with tutors Janet  Lilo, Albert McCarthy and Matthew Salapu aka Anonymous, Girls Who Shoot  / Boys Who Draw exhibition held at Papakura Art Gallery, curated by  Janet Lilo and a write up by Paul Lafaele on our annual tertiary road  trip that took place at the end of April down in Wellington, where we  attended the opening night and artist talk of Ioane Ioane exhibition Poly wants a cracker at the City Gallery Wellington. Up coming events and exhibitions for July/August and September 2012.

Features q & a profile of Jeremy Leatinu'u, Offstage 4 was held at Artspace at the beginning of March and curated by David Sun, The Anatomy of  Paradise exhibition was inspired from a book by Amercican write CJ Furnas in 1947 and curator Angela Tiatia named this exhibition after his book, A postcard from Lorene Taurerewa in New York, our gallery images featues work by Dagmar Dyck, Delicia Sampero, Vaimaila Urale, Tiffany Singh and the 'Manukau Sculptors'.
